Huh. Now that you mention it, I don't think I want to pay for 'water' either. Ok, maybe if it were free. But then if it were free I'd probably be even more skeptical... Ok, I revise - I probably wouldn't try it either.

I also have a few friends who swear by this sort of thing. The Placebo effect has certainly been demonstrated to be effective, but beyond that Homeopathy doesn't seem to have any substantial basis. An excellent deconstruction of the discipline can be found in Ernst and Singh's "Trick or Treatment".

I don't think that I, personally, would try homeopathy for two reasons: I know too much about it for the placebo to be effective and I dislike the idea of exchanging money for a phial of (whatever they may call it) pure water.

I have friends who take homeopathic remedies and swear by them. I also recently read an article that homeopathic medicines have the same success rate as placebos given by doctors. It would make sense that if you swear by homeopathy it would be more likely that it does have some effect on you - but whether that's physical, or physiological, is the question. I don't know, but I'd give homeopathy a try.
